BEGINNERS OUTDOOR CLIMBING

Learn the basic skills of outdoor rock climbing with a fully qualified instructor. No prior experience is necessary. All you need is lots of enthusiasm, energy and a head for heights. Spend one or two day’s rock climbing on the small cliffs of Snowdonia with a Pride Expeditions’ qualified instructor. These taster sessions are aimed at beginners or indoor climbers who want to try outdoor climbing for the first time.

INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED ROCK CLIMBING SKILLS

Already a keen indoor rock climber? If you have done some rock climbing before and are confident with tying into a rope, belaying and have done some indoor lead climbing it is time to learn the skills of outdoor rock climbing.

This is a rock climbing improvers course with a fully qualified instructor. We recommend spending at least two days to get the most out of your time with us. We will tailor the course to suit your needs and skill level. We will look at setting up top and bottom ropes, gear placements and belaying a lead climber. If you reach a suitable level you may be in a position to lead climbs at the discretion of the instructor. This is more likely to happen if you book two days or longer with us.

MULTI-PITCH ROCK CLIMBING DAYS

This is for people who have climbed before and have the basic skills of belaying and can tie in effectively. You will need a head for heights and a sense of adventure. We will access the high mountain areas of North Wales or visit the coast for some sea cliff climbing. These days will be tailored to your skill level.

You can book between one and five days depending on how much time you have. Please let us know if you have a particular objective you would like to achieve or something you would like to learn. We can work on a one to one basis. If booking for two people both participants need to have basic rock climbing skills and a head for heights.

BOOKING AND EQUIPMENT

Equipment Required

This is outdoor climbing therefore you will be outside all day. You will need warm waterproof clothing, sturdy footwear, water and a packed lunch. If you have your own climbing equipment please bring it along especially for the more advanced days.

If it is good weather please bring sun cream and a sunhat to protect you from the sun. In the event of wet weather we will take you to the local indoor climbing wall. The entry fee will be your responsibility to pay. If the weather is looking bad in the lead up to the event we will contact you to arrange alternatives.

Payments

A £50 deposit is required to book your place. Please pay the full amount two weeks prior to the start date. All payments can be made online.

HOW DO I BOOK?

We will only book instructors and make arrangements once a deposit has been paid. If you would like to ask us any questions prior to booking or would like more information please contact admin@prideexpeditions.co.uk . Once you have decided the adventure you would like to do please click on the orange ‘book you place’ tab to pay a deposit securely at our expedition shop.

DO YOU DO CUSTOM PACKAGES?

We have the expertise and the local knowledge to arrange your adventure. If you would like something a bit different to those advertised on our website please contact our Managing director to discuss Nick@prideexpeditions.co.uk . Safety is paramount to everything we do, we will not agree to provide anything that where safety is overly compromised or anything we consider damaging to the local environment.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?

All our adventures take place outside. We are an adventure company and operate in wilderness, sometimes hostile environments. Please be prepared to spend the whole day outside with everything that you need including lunch and water to keep hydrated. We will send you a comprehensive kit list once you have signed up for you adventure. Please pay strict attention to this and let us know if you do not have or are unsure what waterproof clothing is or sturdy footwear consists of. We would rather take the time to help you understand and be properly equipped rather than compromise safety by not being adequately prepared.

WHAT IS YOUR PAYMENT SCHEDULE?

We do not make bookings until a deposit is received. If you pay a deposit and we are unable to provide you adventure we will postpone your trip to a date that we can provide it or give you a refund. Once we have a deposit we will make bookings and contact you to confirm and highlight the payment schedule. For UK adventures please pay the remainder of the balance as soon as we have contacted you with confirmation. For overseas adventures once we have secured enough deposits we will send you a payment schedule that will spread the payments for the expedition out at intervals in the lead up to the trip. If we do not secure enough deposits to make the expedition viable we will refund your deposit.
